TEDx events are conferences because they aren’t just about talks or performances. Like all other TEDx events, TEDxJIS is about the entire experience. It’s a place where people can connect, interact and communicate with each other. It’s a time to meet new people, ask questions, and exchange ideas for how to solve problems in the community.

Salons are smaller events that keep the community engaged between annual TEDx conferences. Attendees watch TED Talks videos, interact with speakers or performers, and have informal discussions about the talks they view together. TEDxJISSalon events have brought together current students and parents, alumni, and former JIS teachers.

TEDxJISLive is centered on the webcast of the annual TED Conference. TEDxJISWomen, which features a webcast of the TEDWomen Conference, explores female perspectives on issues that matter to us all. These events are organized around the official conferences each year, and the JIS community, along with the world, becomes a TED audience.
